2010 ROCKWiRED READER'S POLL AWARD

(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) The year has been a struggle for ROCKWiRED MAGAZiNE but there was hardly any need to throw in the towel just because of a little thing like an economic downturn. It’s been said time and time again that hard times makes for some great art and ROCKWiRED’s editor-in-chief BRIAN LUSH has found this to be true within the past year. “ROCKWIRED has always been about diversity in sound and every year there is a little bit of everything.” says LUSH “Despite how different everything this year was sonically, it all seemed to be tied together by an understanding of how fragile things were both politically and economically.”

2009 was a year marked by financial troubles for ROCKWIRED and the loss of the weekly internet radio show ROCKWiRED LiVE after four years. “With a loss of money, you simply learn to make cuts and do what you have to do but losing ROCKWIRED LIVE seemed like the ultimate sacrifice. After four years of doing it, it felt like home and would be lying if I said that there were no tears.”
